First, A Little Bit About Amanda...

My name is Amanda, and I live in Massachusetts with my real-life hero, my adult children, and a sweet-but-naughty dog. I love to travel, (particularly to Scotland), and I love to hyperfocus on new topics because I’m obsessed with learning! I am a huge fan of sparkly sneakers (and anything else sparkly), finding whimsy in every day, frolicking in nature, bookstores, tea, Taylor Swift, and pretty much any baked good. And I love making new friends, especially ones who have read my books. :)

An Interview With Amanda...

What can readers who discover your work this Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend expect to experience? Is there a particular message or feeling you hope to convey through your stories during this time?

For me, it is all about hope and healing! In my mind, we’re all working through something, and one of my favorite things is to lose myself in a story where I get to see the ins and outs of a character's healing journey. I love feeling like I’m peeping through someone’s windows and into their heart, and I hope I give readers this experience through the stories I tell. The greatest compliment I’ve received as an author is when readers tell me they can relate to the stories I’ve told–whether it’s through the character, the plot, or something else. I hope my readers feel like my books are giving them a warm hug.

Could you give us a sneak peek into your current or upcoming projects? What exciting new worlds, characters, or adventures can your readers look forward to in the near future?

As an author, I’ve come to terms with the fact that I cannot fit into any kind of box, so genre-wise I have a lot going on. :) I’m currently working on a spin-off series in my contemporary women’s fiction series (about four friends opening a B&B together), and I’m also working on a new women’s fiction fantasy series that involves a woman running away to Scotland and discovering she has Faerie heritage (perhaps this is a fantasy of mine?) I’m super excited about writing this, and I hope it appeals to my current readers and also brings in new ones! As wildly different as all of my series are, they all have the same general themes and level of coziness, along with some emotional angst.

During the hustle and bustle of the holiday shopping season, many turn to books for relaxation and escape. What are your personal favorite reads around this time of year, or do you have any go-to book recommendations for our readers?

I’m the kind of reader who enjoys reading a little of everything. I’m currently reading some book club types of books and really enjoying the mental stimulation. But I have some cozy romances waiting for me on my kindle, too. I like any book that makes me feel something, and I, like everyone else in the world, have been on a huge Colleen Hoover kick lately.

As we dive into the holiday season, can you share how this festive time influences your writing or your stories? Do any of your characters or plots draw inspiration from the holiday spirit?

This time of year always has me examining relationships and families and thinking of fresh ways to tie these observations into my work. I love exploring the complex dynamics between family members, friends, etc. and one of my favorite things to write about is how people work things out when issues arise. The holidays provide lots of inspiration as we get closer to the ones we love (for better AND for worse.) I’m always eavesdropping in public for inspiration, too.

Are there any special offers, promotions, or unique aspects of your work that you are particularly excited about sharing with readers this Black Friday/Cyber Monday?

As much as I try to find a genre lane to stay in, I can’t help but veer off wildly in too many directions. (I should have realized in high school that I’d never fit in!) This year I’ve decided to let my wild side shine, so instead of beating myself up over my feral imagination, I’m leaning into it. My new website (still under construction, but it’s open while I fine-tune it) is what I like to call my bookverse–a place where readers can try out different genres I write in and see what fits the best. I don’t read one type of book all the time, so I’m hoping to appeal to readers who also can’t fit into boxes. To help readers feel comfortable trying my books, I’m offering all of the books on my website at special Black Friday weekend discounts (with many as low as .99!) Thank you so much for checking things out! And thank you to The Author Revolution for hosting this fantastic promotion.
